At ECS, we offer long-term sustainable water strategies and solutions which accomplish water savings across different sectors including industrial, commercial, public and large scale residential and consequently achieve social, environmental and economical benefits.

Our team of experienced engineers and consultants are industry leaders in the design and specification of water conservation measures, their delivery and commission.

Water Re-use and Recycling (Rain/Storm Water, Grey Water, Sewer Mining)

Many of Australia’s most demanding companies and government sites are utilising rainwater tanks and greywater treatment systems designed, supplied, installed and commissioned by ECS. In each case we identify:

• Site’s water demand
• Site’s available supply
(rainwater and/or stormwater, greywater from basins, showers and/or grease traps)
• Potential risks and appropriate ways to mitigate them
• Appropriate size of storage tanks, pipes, pumps, treatment systems (if required) and
• Legislative requirements within appropriate jurisdiction

Our rainwater harvesting schemes, for instance, offer low overflows at the location of rainwater tanks, low energy consumption, low maintenance, minimal user’s intervention and where required appropriate water quality level.

Water Conservation Measures
Various private enterprises and departments from Australian Federal, State and Local Governments have trusted us to supply and install water efficient devices and fixtures at their sites including:

In-line flow regulators and restrictors (with aerators)
Water efficient toilets
Water efficient showers
Waterless urinals
Pressure reducing valves
Water meters

Water Savings and Management Plans and Technical Audits
ECS has prepared numerous Water Savings and Water Management Plans for a variety of clients across Australia including:

• Manufacturing industry
• Commercial Shopping Centres
• High-rise Commercial Offices
• Food Processing Industry
• Local/State/Federal Government departments and sites
• Educational Institutions
• Hospitality sites

These plans typically include:
• Water balance analyses and benchmarks where applicable
• Assessment of water conservation strategies, their implementation and maintenance costs
• Water savings and payback periods for proposed water conservation measures
• Findings from technical audits of water using equipment, fixtures and appliances
• Submetering and water consumption monitoring

ECS strength in preparing the above Plans lies with our ability to GUARANTEE proposed water savings as part of a Performance Contract.

Monitoring and Verification
ECS successful experience in design, implementation and commissioning of water conservation measures has been demonstrated with our Monitoring and Verification programs carried out prior to and after the completion of work.
This work can be a combination of different strategies such as capturing of rainwater and stormwater, utilisation of greywater, optimisation of cooling towers and irrigation systems, retrofit of existing water fixtures (taps, showers, toilets, urinals), preparation and execution of water educational awareness programs, leak reduction, optimisation of different industrial processes, cleaner production and so forth.

City Towers Water Conservation Program
The City Towers Water Conservation Program is offered by ECS for owners and managers of city’s commercial properties. We can assist in reducing water consumption while also helping to offset the upfront costs.

Smart Water Meter and Leakage Reduction
ECS strongly recommends and encourages our clients to monitor their water consumption. Based on well documented research and ECS’s experience, undetected leaks in commercial buildings typically account for 15% - 25% of total water consumption.

ECS can help you identify leaks and water consumption patterns and consequently achieve large monetary, environmental and social benefits. The ECS’ Smart Water Meters (SWM) have been installed on a number of different sites and have contributed to large water savings.
